Five years ago, two friends with a shared vision opened the doors of The Wig Chix®, setting out to make a difference in their community. Cindy Taylor and Cindy Gilstrap founded The Wig Chix with the goal of helping people look and feel better about themselves, regardless of their circumstances. Today, as we celebrate this milestone, we reflect on the journey and the impact we’ve had on our clients’ lives.
A Vision Rooted in Compassion
The Wig Chix® was born from a desire to serve individuals dealing with hair loss due to medical conditions such as cancer treatments, alopecia, and trichotillomania. Cindy and Cindy recognized the profound emotional and psychological effects of hair loss and aimed to provide a solution that would restore confidence and dignity. Their vision was simple yet powerful: to create a space where people could find not only high-quality wigs but also empathy, support, and a renewed sense of self.
Expanding Our Reach
While our initial focus was on those affected by hair loss from medical conditions, we quickly realized that our services could benefit a broader audience. Many of our clients are individuals with arthritis, orthopedic issues, or other physical limitations that make styling their own hair challenging. We have also welcomed clients who wear wigs simply because they enjoy the convenience and versatility they offer.
This expansion has allowed us to touch even more lives, offering a range of options to suit various needs and preferences. Whether it’s a client seeking a wig due to a medical condition or someone looking to switch up their style effortlessly, The Wig Chix is here to provide personalized solutions.
